This Privacy Policy applies to our website at trace-electricity.com. Die Domains trace-electricity.de, trace-electricity.ai und trace-electricity.io are redirected to trace-electricity.com; from the moment the target domain is accessed, this Privacy Policy applies.

TRACE.App at app.trace-electricity.com is governed by a separate privacy policy. It can be found at app.trace-electricity.com/privacy.

TRACE.Configurator and TRACE.Studio (customer-specific white-label instances and consulting projects) are governed by separate contractual data protection provisions agreed upon in the respective license and service agreement or Data Processing Agreement.

3. Collection and Storage of Personal Data

3.1 When Visiting the Website

When you visit our website, your browser automatically sends information to our server and temporarily stores it in a log file. The following information is collected automatically and stored until automatic deletion:

3.2 When Using the Contact Form

If you have any questions, you can contact us through a form provided on the website. A valid email address is required so we know who is making the inquiry and can respond. Additional information is optional.

Data processing for the purpose of contacting us is based on Article 6(1) sentence 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your voluntary consent.

Personal data we collect through the contact form is automatically deleted once your inquiry has been resolved.

3.3 When Requesting the App Link via Email (Mobile Fallback)

When you click the "Get Started Free" button on a mobile device, a dialog opens where you can request the TRACE.App link be sent to your email address. Background: TRACE.App is optimized for desktop or laptop use; with the link sent to you, you can later conveniently open the app on a larger screen.

Data Processed: your entered email address, the time of the request, and a technical processing identifier. Purpose: solely for one-time delivery of the app link to the provided address. Your email address will not be reused for newsletters or marketing purposes.

The legal basis is Article 6(1) sentence 1 lit. a GDPR (consent by submitting the form) or Article 6(1) sentence 1 lit. b GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request). Data is deleted once the link is sent, but no later than 30 days thereafter.

3.4 When Using TRACE.App and TRACE.Configurator

Data processing in TRACE.App is governed by the separate privacy policy at app.trace-electricity.com/privacy.

Data processing in TRACE.Configurator instances and in consulting/studio projects is governed by the respective license and service agreement as well as the associated Data Processing Agreement (DPA) according to Article 28 GDPR.

4. Data Sharing

Your personal data will not be transmitted to third parties for purposes other than those listed below.

We share your personal data with third parties only if:

  • You have given your express consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR
  • Disclosure pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in not disclosing your data
  • in the event that disclosure pursuant to Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR is required by a legal obligation
  • it is legally permissible and required pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the performance of contractual relationships with you

5. Cookies and Cookie Consent

We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g., Local Storage) on our website. Cookies are small files that your browser automatically creates and stores on your device. They cause no harm, contain no viruses, or malware.

We distinguish three categories:

Hotjar processes anonymized IP addresses, screen size, device type, browser information, country (not precise location), and preferred language. 9. Hosting and Content Delivery Network (Cloudflare)

Our website at trace-electricity.com and the domains trace-electricity.ai and trace-electricity.io (DNS and forwarding to .com) are provided via Cloudflare services. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, represented in the EU by Cloudflare Germany GmbH, Rosental 7, c/o Mindspace, 80331 Munich.

Cloudflare provides hosting and content delivery services for our website (including static content delivery, DNS, TLS termination, DDoS protection, and bot traffic filtering). All data traffic between your browser and our website is routed through Cloudflare's servers. Cloudflare processes personal data of website visitors, including IP address, request date and time, referrer, user agent, and technical connection and security metadata.

The legal basis is Article 6(1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in secure, efficient, and reliable website operation. We have a Data Processing Agreement with Cloudflare under Article 28 GDPR and an agreement on EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) for data transfers to third countries. Cloudflare is also certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Data transfers to the USA or servers outside the EU cannot be excluded, as Cloudflare operates a globally distributed network and routes requests through the nearest edge location.

The domain trace-electricity.de is forwarded to trace-electricity.com via HTTP redirect through Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin. Strato temporarily processes the IP address and connection metadata of visitors for the purpose of providing the domain and forwarding service. Legal basis: Article 6(1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. 10. Data Subject Rights

You have the right to:

  • Pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR, request information about your personal data processed by us
  • Pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR, request the rectification of inaccurate, or completion of, your personal data stored with us without undue delay
  • Pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR, request the erasure of your personal data stored with us
  • Pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR, request the restriction of processing of your personal data
  • Pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR, receive your personal data provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, or request transmission to another controller
  • Pursuant to Art. 7(3) GDPR, withdraw at any time your consent once given to us

11. Right to Object

If your personal data is processed based on legitimate interests under Article 6(1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR, you have the right to object under Article 21 GDPR to the processing of your personal data if there are grounds arising from your particular situation.

12. Data Security

We use the widely-used SSL (Secure Socket Layer) procedure with the highest encryption level supported by your browser. This is typically 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead.

We employ appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological development.

This privacy policy is current as of April 2026. As our website and offerings evolve or due to changed legal or regulatory requirements, it may become necessary to modify this privacy policy.
